About Us
Our Team
The women you see writing for our magazine write just for the hell of it.
Worldly Women Magazine is fueled by passion, comradery
and a sprinkle of therapy.
Our authors are women from all walks of life: college kids, missionaries,
athletes, scientists, military families, expatriates, immigrants, teachers,
full-time sailors, tattoo artists, naturalists, mothers - the list goes on!
With such a diverse team, it's a wonder we all get along so well. Our backgrounds, attitudes and experiences can make each of us appear so estranged... but when we have the chance to share our stories here,
our voices are always heard, and our hearts seem to beat as one for
the wanderlust and worldliness which connects us all.
Haley Anne McQueen
Assistant Editor
Lane McKelvey
Editor
For Haley, the ocean will always be her domain. Her Master of Science in environmental science recently led her to pursue a job as a water quality analyst for Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Florida.
When Anna called on her to contribute to Worldly Women Magazine, there was no way she could say no! Reading and writing have always been an escape for Haley. Her drive to clearly communicate science was one of the reasons she pushed herself to communicate through the written word. As the Assistant Editor of this gem, Haley has the opportunity to share her stories and encourage other women to do so, too.
When she is not reading or working you’ll find her enjoying Florida’s marine environments with her boyfriend Donovan, SCUBA diving whenever she gets the chance to and indulging in a glass of red wine.
Lane holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, specializing in substance use disorders, and is passionate about helping incarcerated individuals; she earned a BA in Communication, Media and Theater Arts, and is a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard.
Lane began writing during treatment for an eating disorder and developed a love for sharing her stories through written words. After attending the Yale Writers’ Conference in 2016, she began freelance writing for a variety of companies, most notably the Keys Weekly in Marathon, Florida.
Lane is a mom to one adventurous, horse-loving, sailboat-living daughter, Vivienne, and married to a Merchant Mariner, TJ. In her free time, on the rare occasion she has free time, Lane enjoys stand up paddleboarding, reading and working on a memoir she hopes to have published one day. She also loves taking long walks with her two senior dogs, Kai and Missi.
Anna Kellner
Founder, Producer, Editor-in-Chief
Anna holds a BA in Maritime Studies with minors in Communications and Anthropology from the University of West Florida. While her writing career really began in college, she wrote her first (and last) novel in elementary school on her mom's huge desktop computer and continued writing for fun throughout her childhood. In college, she penned articles for Her Campus UWF and held a position with Nu Expression as a Content Specialist for various clients.
Then, Anna founded this magazine in 2018. Why? She'd just graduated from college, moved home to her parents' place, she was unemployed, lonely and bored.
How's that for professionalism?
Seeing friends across the U.S. post pictures of their latest trip to Ireland, China, Ecuador - while she was binge-watching Call the Midwife and crying into her sweet tea on the couch - Anna was dumbfounded and jealous as hell.
How could they afford it? Don't they have jobs? And families?
Her curiosity got the best of her. And here we are.
